Join the Anatomy Trail for a dive into the fascinating and gory world of Edinburgh’s medial community.
For over 300 years the city has produced doctors, practices, and technologies that have improved and saved lives the world over. Come for a walk with us and discover the class-bound city that made it all possible.
You’ll learn about the surgeon with the fastest knife in the West, of the first women to study at a British university, and how to properly steal a corpse for medical dissection!
The Anatomy Trail is for students, families and all those who like their history with a little blood on the side!

The tour covers roughly 2km over 90 mins. There is some rough ground within Greyfriars Kirkyard, and some light inclines, but there are no steps.

Matt
Matt is an actor, guide and storyteller. Part of Strawmoddie Theatre, he splits his time between stage, street, and the Scottish highlands, bringing productions and tours across the country. His interest in medical history began with some reading on Edinburgh’s past, and is widely expected to end in prison.
