Meet your Guides

Roisin
Roisin is a tour guide, stand up comedian and most importantly a total Potterhead. Originally from Glasgow, she has lived and worked in Edinburgh as a tour guide since 2018, welcoming tourists to the city with tours of the Old Town, the New Town, the castle and of course, Harry Potter, first donning her Potter Trail cape in 2021.
From 2010-2013 she studied Theatre at the University of York where she played both Rumbleroar and Crabbe AND Goyle in the University drama society's production of A Very Potter Musical (Abridged). Feeling (Accurately) that no future part could ever possibly top this, she walked away from theatre but still treads the boards around Scotland as a stand up comedian. She makes videos for BBC The Social about historical Scottish women. She has been described by herself as a Ravenclaw, and by everyone she's ever met as "definitely a Hufflepuff".

Colin
Colin is a very brave wizard who wears just a hoodie and his cape in the winter!

Charlie
Charlie is a life-long performer and proud Gryffindor whose passion for Potter began at the very beginning. While traveling across the globe, he and his wife, Mel, read the books to one another in hostels (in the days before wifi).
His first professional acting job in London was attended by the late, great Alan Rickman (Professor Snape), proof, if ever there needed to be that Charlie was destined for this job! Aside from his role with the Potter Trail Charlie is a drama practitioner and an improviser, working all over the world in a career that has already spanned more than 25 years.

Caroline
Caroline is a performer and theatre practitioner as well as a tour guide and enjoys getting to wear many hats, pointy ones included. As a child, she hoped to be an actor, a teacher or a wizard when she grew up - so feels very lucky to get to be all three, although a time-turner would be much appreciated for Christmas please, thank you, please.
A firm believer that you can express and define yourself however fits you best, Caroline is a self-proclaimed Huffleclaw (or occasional Ravenpuff). In her spare time she enjoys the company of muggles and magical creatures. Contrary to popular belief she is not an animagus, just regularly covered in cat hair.
Her name is an anagram of “I am an echo nostril”. Spooky.

Sam
A passionate Gryffindor and one-time winner of Witch Weekly’s Most Charming Smile Competition (2012), Sam has been an avid adorer of the wizarding world since he was a small boy, spending much of his adolescence listening to the audiobooks (narrated by the fabulous Stephen Fry) whilst he played with his Harry Potter Lego.
Since moving to Edinburgh in 2009 he has spent most of his time working as an actor, musician and occasional poet, although he’s happiest in the company of a few friends with a few butterbeers. His patronus is a Bassett hound, he prefers Mexican food and is fond of jazz.

Christine
Christine is a proud Slytherclaw and the head Marketing Witch here at the potter Trail so when she's not leading tours, she can be found following the other guides Colin Creevy style in a desperate attempt to create magical social media posts.
Christine loves being a potter trail guide so much that she has made herself multiple capes to suit all of Edinburgh's weather personalities. Madame Malkin is so proud!
